The Shelter Island Friends of Music (SIFM) was founded in 1977 and incorporated as non-profit in 1979. Our mission has been to present both world-renowned artists and rising stars of concert music to music lovers on the East End of Long Island. Our repertory ranges from the Baroque, Classic and Romantic to Contemporary periods.
The musicians we present at our concerts perform at prestigious venues in New York City, as well as major cities around the world. Yet, at SIFM, our concerts are open to all for no admission. We are able to present free concerts due solely by the support of our loyal and generous audience through annual contributions and from donations offered at the door for each concert. These tax-deductible gifts are vital to our organization.
We present five concerts annually, generally three in spring and two in autumn. All are held at the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church, followed by a reception.
SIFM is proud to offer the world's finest concert music to our diverse audience of Long Island's East End. We invite you to join us for another extraordinary season.
